No doubt you've heard of werewolves. They're a common myth the world over. But have you heard of the rougarou or, alternatively, the loup-garou? This wolf-like creature resides in the swamps and woodlands of southern Louisiana. Generations of Cajun families have told stories of this monster to scare children into obedience or to scare Catholics into practicing the tradition of Lent. One of the many versions of the rougarou's story is that Catholics turn into werewolves if they break Lent for seven years in a row. Our Rougarou soap features a werewolf howling at the moon.
