A well-known figure in Scottish folklore, the Loch Ness Monster is a large creature believed to inhabit the cold and murky waters of Loch Ness in Scotland. Stories of sightings date all the way back to 565 AD, and new claims, photos, and videos still crop up periodically in an attempt to prove that this creature is more than a myth. Nessie has developed quite the tourist following. You will see its imagery here and there across the highlands. There is even a dedicated Nessie hunter living on the shores of the lake, keeping an eye out for any sign of the monster.
